Beyond Our Boundaries – Cultural Enrichment through the Arts
Storylines is thrilled to be partnering with the Bennett Health Care Centre LTC, of Georgetown, in administering the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Grant Program.  The purpose of the year-long program is to provide hands-on arts and cultural activities utilizing local artistic professionals, volunteers, and internal multi-ethnic staff.

The goal is to provide a better understanding of other cultures and to enrich the quality of life for the Bennett Health Care Centre’s residents.  As part of the grant, Storylines will also deliver a Music Memories Intergenerational program with the local High School and the senior residents.

Spiritual Heritage – Three Traditions, Three Generations, One Community
The Bethel Christian Reformed Church of Acton has received a Federal New Horizon’s for Seniors Grant for a 3-denominational, intergenerational memoir pilot project. The purpose is to capture the life stories and spiritual heritage of the elders in each of the churches involved which includes Bethel Christian Reformed Church, The Parish of Saint Joseph, Patron of Canada,Catholic Church and the Churchill Community Church. 

Three generations will be involved in the interviewing, sharing and writing of the stories. An anthology for each church will be compiled and shared at a multi-church picnic celebration. Additional interdenominational and intergenerational activities will follow to solidify the “One Community” program theme. Storylines will be responsible to facilitate the project and deliver the intergenerational memoir components.
